Research – Part 2 – Piracy

To narrow our focus down we did research on various general facts of the internet and then we focused more on the piracy side of the web and eventually our animation developed into an animated infographic warning/informing early teens to adults of just how much power they have over the web.

We gained the information for the animation from various websites such as:

http://www.pewinternet.org/fact-sheets/teens-fact-sheet/  – Although this post is focusing on some of the piracy research gathered by myself the link above as illustrated below is more like audience research but i felt it fits this post more as it focuses on the devices and age groups etc. illustrating the demographic of our chosen primary audience.

Below is a pretty large yet informative image from http://www.go-gulf.com/blog/online-piracy/ and is an info graphic from 2011 stating many piracy facts.

Although the information is outdated I feel it can still be used within our project because it still gets across the message. If anything i reckon it would show how much piracy has grown.

Phew, you’ve finally reached the bottom. I would almost say the styling of this image is inspiring. We wanted to aim this kind of infographic at a younger teen audience who are most likely are really starting to get to grips with the internet and are starting to become more aware of the wilder side of the web.
