Research – Part 1 – The Internet

With the research gathered I thought it would make a good post to collate some of the key areas found, along with the websites used.

1. http://www.internetlivestats.com/

Nice simple site which provides real time statistics for internet traffic and technology which uses the internet. As for statistics this is as close to latest figures as you can get. keeping the data pretty damn close to IRL. The website also contains trends and more statistics to back them up, making it a pretty good source of information.

2. Teachers and Professionals working with children. – http://www.saferinternet.org.uk/advice-and-resources/teachers-and-professionals

teaxchAlthough the information on this page does not help the animation it does show how teachers are ‘supposed’ to educate and ensure their pupils safety with rearguards to the internet. This was used by myself as an insight into the companies and support already out in action which could be on board with what we as a production group aim to do.

3. Global figures and information – http://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.html (Could be used as video statistics but also as audience research)

internetWith a large amount of data showing the mass amounts of users this website gives us both information for the first section of the animation and audience / geographical information for us to know where we could possibly distribute the end product.

The only negative i would say about this site is the date is 2014 which is obviously the year behind ours so facts are not up to date with modern technology growth. However the growth of such information is rapidly growing so the data is useful to compare the usage to the current date.
